Shoes & Attire for Dance Classes
All Students
Hair should be pulled back and secured away from face
No food, gum, or toys
Water bottles are permitted in the dance studio
No jewelry, midriff shirts, jeans, short loose shorts, or street shoes allowed
Underwear is not typically worn under tights/leotards
Core Dance Student Attire
Female Students:
Pink ballet shoes (canvas split-sole recommended but not required)
Leotard (solid color preferred)
Ballet pink tights (convertible highly recommended for dancenastic students)
Black patent tap shoes (no ribbons - elastic or velcro only)
Male Students:
Black ballet shoes (canvas split-sole recommended but not required)
Fitted t-shirt, shorts (solid color preferred)
Black tap shoes
Dance Classes
Dance Baby!
This sweet class is for non-walking babies and their caregivers. A front-facing baby carrier is strongly recommended. This class will be held in the main gym, on the soft floor. Bare feet or socks only. No shoes. A fun new way to spend time with your little one and for them to start experiencing the benefits of music and movement!
Suggested Ages: Non-walking with required adult participation
Dance with Me!
A 45-minute class is creatively designed for young dancers and a parent or adult friend. The class consists of a floor warm-up, ballet, tap, and imaginative play throughout. Be prepared to take shoes off while we fly, twirl, boogie across the dance floor! All participants are invited to perform in our annual dance showcase.
Suggested Ages: 2 to 3-1/2 with required adult participation
Combo Ballet/Tap 1
This 45-minute class is the perfect introduction to dance for the Pre-K dancer! The class begins with 20 minutes of ballet, including a short warm-up, introduction to basic ballet terms, and practice across the floor. After a 5-minute break to grab a drink and change shoes, we continue with a 20-minute Tap class designed to introduce your dancer to basic tap steps and develop their sense of rhythm.
Suggested Ages: 3-1/2 to 5 (students must be potty trained and parents of 3-4 years old must remain on-site)
Combo Ballet/Tap 2
This 60-minute class is designed for your 5 to 7-year-old dancer. The class begins with 30 minutes of ballet, including stretching and barre exercises. Students will learn proper posture, body alignment, and ballet terminology.
Suggested Ages: 5 to 7
DanceNastics 1
This 60-minute class is the perfect introduction to dance and gymnastics for children who love both! The class starts with ballet, then tap, and finishes in the gym with basic gymnastics skills on floor, beam, and bars.
